Postdoc position (m/f/d)

for postdoc studies in Tissue Engineering
We invite applications for an EU-funded Horizon EIC Pathfinder project called "Building vascular networks and Blood-Brain-Barriers through a Biomimetic manufacturing Technology for the fabrication of Human tissues and Organs (THOR). For further information please click here.
Together with our collaborators and industrial partners in Spain, France, and Italy, we will develop a tissue engineering technology (spiderbots and micro-devices environment).
Our part of the project focuses on studying biohybrid vascularized hippocampal tissue.

What we look for:

  • highly motivated and enthusiastic candidates with an excellent PhD degree
  • a strong background in neuroscience
  • experience in acute slice culture, organotypic slice culture, organ-on-chips, cell culture (human & primary cells) and live-cell imaging
  • excellent communication skills in English

What we offer:

  • a 2-year postdoc position, in accordance with the German public service salary scale (TV‐L E13)
  • an exciting research project involving cutting-edge translational techniques in a collaborative setting
  • specific training in preparing and handling murine and human cortical slices and electrophysiology
  • an efficient mentoring program
  • an interdisciplinary teaching program, including courses in novel technologies and soft skills for postdocs

  • test microfluidic system with tissue
  • building blood-brain barrier
